Driving engagement and revenue through an improved product configurator
Freeman’s online platform for exhibitors was overwhelming and difficult to navigate, leading to frustration and reliance on support to make informed purchasing decisions. The lack of a guided experience for new exhibitors and difficult-to-digest information negatively impacted exhibitor satisfaction and show success. The resulting platform overhaul created a more intuitive and empowering experience for their exhibitors.
Challenges
Exhibitors struggled with a disjointed online experience that offered little guidance, especially for new users. Critical information was buried or complex, making it hard for exhibitors to make well-informed decisions without direct assistance. This poor user experience not only impacted exhibitor success but also resulted in unsatisfied customers, increasing the burden on support teams.
Solutions
To address these issues, we designed a user-friendly and streamlined conference experience tailored to exhibitors' needs. The implementation of a cohesive design system enabled more intuitive navigation and improved user journey. Prototyping early in the process helped test the new design system, ensuring a smooth transition from UX to UI. We created reusable UI components to establish a consistent brand experience across the platform. This system allowed for greater flexibility while delivering a streamlined and unified user interface.
Results
The redesigned Freeman exhibitor platform now offers a significantly improved user experience, empowering exhibitors to easily navigate the site and achieve their goals without needing constant support. The design system and UI consistency have not only improved exhibitor satisfaction but also enhanced the overall brand experience. These efforts contributed to more successful exhibitor outcomes and reduced support inquiries, improving the Freeman online experience for all users.
